Who We Are
The Friends of Cayo Costa State Park (FoCC) is a state park based on Pine Island, Florida.
We are a sub-committee and division of the Barrier Islands Park Society (BIPS), a 501c3 organization which is the official Citizens Support Organization for Cayo Costa, Gasparilla, Stump Pass, Don Pedro State Parks and Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum.
All funds raised by FoCC will be used exclusively for Cayo Costa State Park. Tax #65-0327405.
Friends of Cayo Costa State Park’s mission is to preserve, protect and promote the unique unspoiled natural beauty and heritage of Cayo Costa State Park for present and future generations.
Our goal is to preserve and protect one of the few remaining undisturbed/undeveloped barrier islands left in Florida while educating the general public and local community on the natural and cultural resources found here.
Some of our accomplishments include:
- Providing funding for park equipment
- Providing supplies for turtle nests
- Protection and shorebird monitoring programs
- Picnic tables
- Rethatching the roof of the chickee in the campground
